While funds are still be sourced for , the camp was officially opened on Monday after several appeal has been made to the Nigeria Amputee federation.
In an exclusive chat with our correspondent, the skipper of the team ,Sarafadeen Olalekan Oyeleke says the team is optimistic of participating in the tournament despite the uncertainty of funds to prosecute their journey.
“Still on the matter but we are optimistic it will be sorted out and we will attend the tournament”
The team ,currently camped in the Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS) is having their training session at the legacy pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere,Lagos.
Recall that the team won silver medal at the last Nations Cup after losing the final match to Angola.
The tournament has been billed to hold in Tanzania between November 26 to December 5.
It’s also reported that a ‘GofundMe’ account has been created by the team to solicit for funds from well meaning Nigerians.
