Nigerian Internationals, Emmanuel Dennis and Taiwo Awoniyi played their parts for their Premier League club Nottingham Forest who were trounced by Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League week 17.
The 25 years old Awoniyi, was in the starting lineup for his relegation-battling Forest and he wasn’t able to add to his three premier league goals this season and was substituted for Sam Surridge in the 62nd minute of the game.
While his compatriot, Emmanuel Dennis was introduced into the contest in the 63rd minute with the home team already with a two-goal advantage and he couldn’t help his team to reduce the deficit.
Goals from Marcus Rashford, Martial, and Substitute Fred ensured all three points for Manchester United.
This completes a miserable week for the Nigerian players in the Premier League, as the duo of Iheanacho and Ndidi for Leicester City lost at home to Newcastle United, while Aribo and Iwobi also suffered the same fate with Southampton and Everton respectively.
The next task for Nottingham Forest is a home tie against Chelsea as they bid to move away from the relegation zone.
