Nigeria International Taiwo Awoniyi scored his second league goal of the season for struggling Nottingham Forest who lost 3-2 at home to Fulham in the Premier League on Friday night, Owosports.com.ng reports.

Awoniyi scored in the 11th minute as he headed from a corner kick to put the host ahead in the first half.

Super Eagles-eligible defender Tosin Adarabiouo scored the equaliser for Fulham in the 54th minute as Joao Palhinha and Harrison Reed completed a second half rout to take all three points on the night.

Awoniyi missed from a similar position from where he had scored inside the opposition penalty box which could have made the score stand at 3-2 before he was replaced by Sam Surridge in the 70th minute.

Lewis O’Brein scored from close range for Forest 13 minutes before full time.

The Kwara- born player also became just the second Forest player to score in his first two home starts in the Premier League after Stan Collymore.

The loss keeps Forest rooted to 19th with six losses from seven games and face an early battle for survival in the EPL.
