Nigerian International Azubuike Okechukwu has won the Turkish Super Lig with his club Istanbul Basaksehir after they beat Kayserispor 1-0 on Sunday with a game left.
Istanbul Basaksehir top the standings with 69 point seven ahead of Trabzonspor with 62 points, going into the final week of the season.
The title win for Istanbul Basaksehir also snapped the dominance of the Super Lig’s top teams Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas, who have won the Super Lig title 54 times between them.
This is the first Turkish Lig triumph for Basaksehir, formerly the Istanbul municipality team which was established in 1990.
