Bako Reels Out Plans To Transform Kwara Football Academy

Newly appointed Administrator for Kwara Football Academy (KFA), Alhaji Ibrahim Bako has revealed his plans to further raise the bar of football institution.

Ibrahim Bako who was a guest on a Radio program “Sports Chapel” on Diamond-88.7fm Ilorin on Sunday stated that his top priority is to upgrade the facilities in the Academy that will help in nurturing and grooming talents saleable to top European clubs in order to generate funds for the State Government.

“Within the shortest possible time, we’ve been able to make headway. We have contact in America and someone is about to link us up with a club in Europe-We also have an appointment with the NFF and they will be coming to the academy to see what we have on ground and how we can partner” says the former Secretary of Kwara United.

Stressing the significance of the facilities, the experienced sports administrator noted that , “We have enough facilities, though the gym is not in a good condition right now but we are working to put it intact”.

“About the pitch, we’ve directed the grounds men to revive the grass and make sure the sprinkler start working because we are approaching the winter so that we can sustain the pitch”.

“I have drawn a program for myself and the target is that between now and my one year in office; I want to produce players t that are saleable to foreign club like in the Premiership, Laliga and the rest”, he concluded.

Bako who also hinted that the Academy will organise a football tournament very soon in a bid to discover some talented players and give them scholarship added that ‘football college’ will continue to uphold vision and mission statement of its founding fathers.

KFA is reputed to be a world class football Academy with so many credits to its name.

Among many of its product who are currently making waves in world of football is the Watford FC of England striker, Emmanuel Dennis.
