Basketball: D’Tigress Beat France To Keep FIBA Worldcup Qualifying Hopes Alive

Nigeria’s women Basketball Team D’Tigress on Friday beats European giant France by 67-65 points in their second group B match of the FIBA Worldcup qualifying tournament at the Ranko Zeravica Sports Hall in Belarus, owosports.com.ng reports.

It was a keenly contested affair between both side as the Nigerian ladies bounced back from a 17 points deficit in the first quarter to record a slim victory over the French ladies who are ranked fifth best Women’s Basketball Team in the FIBA rankings.

Victoria Macaulay of Nigeria was the top performer with 19 points, four rebounds, four assist five steals and two blocks in the game to ensure that Nigeria picks up that important win which puts the team on course for qualification to the Worldcup which will be hosted by Australia in September.

D’Tigress will on Saturday take on West Africa neighbors Mali in their final group B match with the aim of securing qualifications to the Worldcup their top priority.
