The Technical Adviser of Kwara United believes the performance of his team in the current season has placed them in a tough situation where they have to maintain a high level standard at all time.
Abdullahi Biffo while speaking to newsmen after their 2-0 victory over Plateau United said the team can’t afford to sleep over its achievements.
“Every game is always difficult at this particular stage especially when you are fighting for something at the end of the season” said the former Giwa FC Boss.
The former Akwa United gaffer pointed out the need for consistency and a strong mental strength in order to remain a team to beat with reckoning status.
“The situation we find ourselves makes every game difficult for us and more serious because we can’t afford to sleep- if you sleep at home now you find yourself at the middle of the table so we have to keep on this performance to be able to put pressure on the other teams till the end of the season”. said Biffo.
While noting that fear kills players especially when result aren’t forthcoming, he played down the narratives of clinching the league but hinted the team could seize the opportunity if it comes.
“We still remain an under dog but what we have done for ourselves has put us in a situation where we can fight for the league”
Kwara United did not be play last weekend due to the continental engagement of their opponent; Enyimba FC of Aba but will be squaring up against Rivers United on Wednesday in the match week 23 of the NPFL.
