Former Super Eagles Technical Adviser Bonfrere Jo disclosed why he had issues with former Super Eagles player Pius Ikedia while he was the head coach of the senior national team.
The Atlanta 1996 Olympic gold medal winning coach made the assertion while speaking on Brila FM in Lagos.
“Ikedia doesn’t play football with his senses, despite being a really talented footballer. He doesn’t play football with the team, he’s always running whenever he has the ball leaving out his teammates”
The 73 year old dutch tactian led Nigeria to the 2000 African Cup of Nations co-hosted by Nigeria and Ghana. He also led the Nigerian team to the finals, where they lost to Cameroon by penalties.
Ikedia, a former Bendel Insurance and Ajax player played fifteen international matches and scored once for Nigeria, was part of Nigeria squad to 2002 FIFA World Cup and the 2000 Summer Olympics.
