Brentford Football Club has secured the signature of Nigerian defender Benjamin Frederick on a permanent deal, Owosports.com.ng report.

The 18-year-old talent joins the Bees from Kaduna-based Simoiben Academy, where he initially joined on a loan with a buy option last summer. Following a successful loan spell, Brentford has triggered the buy option, securing Frederick’s services until June 2028, as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Frederick has already made a name for himself with impressive performances for Brentford’s B team, earning a spot in the senior squad. His experience with Nigeria’s U-20 side, the Flying Eagles, has also showcased his potential. Although the team exited the U-20 World Cup in Argentina last year with a 1-0 defeat to South Korea, Frederick’s skills caught the attention of scouts and coaches.

Before joining Brentford, Frederick began his professional career with ABS Ilorin FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL). He later had a brief stint with Premier League side Nasarawa United before making the move to Brentford. This signing marks an exciting addition to Brentford’s defensive lineup, and fans eagerly anticipate Frederick’s growth and contributions to the team in the coming seasons.
