Burton Albion Football Club has announced the signing of Nigerian defender Udoka Godwin-Malife on a three-year contract.
The 24-year-old joins the Brewers from Swindon Town, where he was crowned Players’ Player of the Season and also voted as the Official Supporters Club Player of the Season.
Godwin-Malife, who has played for Oxford City and Forest Green Rovers, made 43 appearances for Swindon last season, primarily as a center back. He has also had a loan spell at Eastleigh and was instrumental in Forest Green Rovers’ promotion to League Two in 2022.
The Nigerian star expressed his excitement about joining Burton Albion, citing the club’s positive new ownership and the opportunity to play in League One again.
Sporting Director Bendik Hareide welcomed Godwin-Malife, describing him as an exceptional central defender with impressive abilities in defense.
