Bayelsa Queens’ Cameroonian goalkeeper Bawou Gabrielle, won the Player of the Match Award after her team defeated TP Mazembe 2-0 at the CAF women’s Champions League in Morocco on Thursday.

With the crucial victory over the DR Congo team, Bayelsa Queens improved on their opening-day 2-1 defeat to champion Mamelodi Sundowns.

Gabrielle played a crucial role in the victory for the Bayelsa Queens by making crucial saves to support her team’s victory.

And after her outstanding performance, Gabrielle was named the best player of the game on the CAF women’s Champions League Twitter account.

Gabrielle will hope to put in another impressive display when Bayelsa Queens take on Egypt’s Wadi Degla in their final group game on Sunday.

The Nigerian women’s championship winners will join Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinals if they defeat Wadi Degla.

The second game in Group B on Thursday saw Mamelodi Sundowns thrash Wadi Degla 5-0.
