Nigerian representative Bayelsa Queens where on fire as they devoured Athleta Ladies of Togo 5 -0 in their women WAFU zone B CAF women’s championship league qualifiers in Yammosoukro Cote D’Ivoire.
Etim Edidiong was the star woman of the match as she netted four goals on the day to help the Prosperity Girls record their first victory and three points in the competition which began on Saturday.
Joseph Miracle openned the floods gate in the 5th minutes with a well taken goal, Etim Edidiong then followed it up with her double brace in the 5th, 64th, 76th and 79 minutes.
Etim Speaking to www.owosports com.ng via the telephone expressed her excitement over the victory. She also commended her teammates for the beautiful job done.
“I feel really good and I’m thankful to my teammates that made it possible because it a collective effort and without them I wouldn’t have been able to get those goals so I’m really happy with the victory.
“It has always been my prayers to score in each game that I played in which is my primary duty, the wish of an attacker is to put the ball inside the net”, she said.
Bayelsa Queens will look to keep up with the momentum when they take on Ampem Darkoa of Ghana in their next group game on Tuesday.
