Head Coach of Akwa United Kennedy Boboye says he will adopt a different approach that will guarantee his team success in the second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round match against CR Belouizdad on Sunday in Algiers.

Coach Boboye whose team defeated the Algerian Champions 1-0 during the first leg of the contest in Uyo, hinted that his knowledge of his opponents from the first leg will guide him to adopt a suitable pattern of play that will ensure they secure qualification to the next round.

Coach Boboye who guided the Promise Keepers to their first NPFL title last month expressed the hope that his team will get a positive result in Algiers.

“Our match in Algiers this weekend is a very important one and we will go all out for it. Before the first leg in Uyo, we didn’t have a good idea of how they (CR Belouizdad) play, but after that game, we now have a fair knowledge of our opponents and we are going to approach it differently.

“I have observed that we are playing different patterns of football and we have to adopt a good tactical formation that will be good enough for us to express ourselves and get a favourable result.

“We are fully aware of the importance of this game, and I have talked with my players on what is expected of us. For us to make it to the next round, we have to go all out for victory on Sunday, although a draw will still be good enough.

“We have received lots of encouragement and support, and we will do our best to reciprocate that gesture by getting a good result, thus giving our fans and supporters something to celebrate” Boboye assured.

Among the players available for selection for the game are goalkeepers Adewale Adeyinka and Jean Efala. Defenders Etboy Akpan, Otobong Effiong, David Philip, Evans Ogbonda and James Ajako. Others are Denis Nya and Sampson Gbadebo.

Midfielders and forwards include
Assistant captain Ubong Friday,
Ubong Essien, Dare Ojo, Hamza Mubarak, Austin Osayande Godswill Nicholas, Seth Mayi, Adam Yakubu, Godspower Tower, Mfon Udoh, Wasiu Alalade, Samuel Amadi, and Akarandut Orok.
