Nigeria Women’s football league (NWFL) champions, Bayelsa Queens will today kickoff their Women’s CAF Champions League campaign against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in Merrakech Morocco.
The second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League began on Sunday 30th October and will run through to the 13th of November 2022 across two cities which includes Rabat and Marrakech in Morocco.
Green Buffaloes of Zambian in the opening group A match on Sunday in Rabat thrashed Determine Girls of Liberia 4-0, while ASFAR Club of Morocco pip Simba Queens SC of Tanzania 1-0

Attention shifts to Merrakech where Group B action will take place with Bayelsa Queens filing out against South Africa Women’s champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the first match schedule for 5pm. Wadi Degla of Egypt will battle TP Mazembe of DR Congo Ladies in the second group B fixture which kicks off by 8pm.
Bayelsa Queens have named 21 players for the championship which includes FIFA U20 star Flourish Sebastine, Mary Anjor, Glory Edet and Miracle Joseph while FIFA U17 Women’s Worldcup bronze winning duo of Etim Edidiong and Aderemi Mary will jet down to Morocco from India to link up with the team.
