CAFWCL: Four Star Rivers Angels Bow Out As Asfar, Soundowns Go Through

Rivers Angels have crashed out of the 2021 Totalenergies CAF women’s champions league despite recording a resounding 4-0 win over Kenya’s Vihiga Queens on Friday Evening at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo Egypt, Owosports.com.ng reports.

Mamelodi Sundowns and ASFAR Club played out a goalless draw which was enough to see both teams through to the next round as Group B winners and runners up with Seven and Four points respectively, while Rivers Angels 4-0 win over Vihiga Queens only served as a consolation for the Jewel of Rivers who had suffered two defeat in their first two games of the competition.

After a goalless first half, Kechukwu Obianujuwan Vivian scored the first two goals from two penalties for Rivers Angels, then Koku Iyabo Oluwadamilola added the third goal before Monday Gift scored the fourth and last goal the Angels from Rivers.

The win meant Rivers Angels and Vihiga Queens both finished the group on 3 points and were eliminated.
