Chidi Okezie Shatters Personal Best, Secures Spot at Paris 2024 Olympics

Nigerian sprinter Chidi Okezie has achieved a remarkable milestone, running a personal best time of 44.97s in the men’s 400m at the Edmonton Athletics Invitational, Owosports.com.ng reports.

 

This outstanding performance not only won him the race but also secured his spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!

Okezie broke the 45-second barrier for the first time in his career, leaving a strong field behind. Wil London III of the USA took second place with a time of 45.55s, while DaeQwan Butler also of the USA finished third with the same time.

In another exciting event, Nigerian sprinter Usheoritse Itsekiri competed in the men’s 100m at the Edmonton Athletics Invitational and finished 2nd, running a time of 10.10s (+1.1). Duan Asemota of Canada won the race in 10.07s, while 3rd place went to Joseph Amoah of Ghana in 10.14s.
