Enyimba FC forward Chijioke Mbaoma, has emerged as the winner of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) golden boot, scoring 17 goals in the 2023/2024 season. He secured the top scorer award with his second goal against Plateau United, bringing his total goal tally to 17.

Chijioke Mbaoma made 35 appearances in the campaign, playing a crucial role in Enyimba FC’s success and helping the team secure a spot in the CAF club competition next season.

The race for the golden boot was competitive, with Remo Stars forward Sikiru Alimi finishing second with 15 goals. Alimi missed some matches due to injury, which affected his chances of winning the award.

Enyimba FC has a history of producing talented strikers in the league, including Victor Mbaoma and Emeka Obioma, although they are no longer with the club. Chijioke Mbaoma’s achievement adds to the club’s legacy of developing top scorers in the NPFL.
