City FC is compelled to respond to the allegations made by Coach Bunmi Blair of Family Worship Centre (FWC) concerning the club’s recent match in the Kaduna centre of the NLO1 promotional playoff. City FC describes Coach Blair’s claims of biased refereeing as unfounded and damaging to the reputation of its club and the league, and it’s essential to set the record straight.

” We’d like to remind Coach Blair that City FC had already qualified for the next stage with two wins prior to their match against FWC, making his allegations of biased officiating highly questionable. Furthermore, Coach Blair’s claims of a manufactured penalty in City’s favour remain speculation without concrete evidence”.

“We find it concerning that Coach Blair instructed his players to sit on the turf in protest of the refereeing, which can bring the game into disrepute and deter sponsors from supporting the league. As a respected member of the football community, coach Blair should know better than to engage in behaviour that undermines the integrity of the game”.

“We believe that Coach Blair’s actions warrant disciplinary action, not just as a response to our specific situation but also as a deterrent to others who might consider similar behaviour in the future. We urge the league body to take this matter seriously and impose the necessary sanctions”.

“City FC’s success is built on hard work, dedication, and fair play. We will not let baseless allegations tarnish our reputation or distract us from our goals. We will continue to focus on our performance and strive for excellence in the Nigeria National League”.
