Nigerian legendary goalkeeper Peter Rufai has urged the Super Falconet to take advantage of their opportunities when they file out against Netherlands in the quarterfinal of the ongoing 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

The 58-year-old who earned 65 caps for the Super Eagles, winning 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia and also represented the three-time African champions at two world cup finals said that he is confident that Nigeria will make it to the semis.

“I have no doubt that the game against Netherlands will be a very difficult one for the Super Falconets, However, I am optimistic that Nigeria will carry the day.”

The goalie, who was born in Lagos also charged the technical crew headed by coach Musa Danjuma to ensure that the team is effective in front of goal on Sunday.

“The technical crew must ensure they do everything to make the team take their goal scoring chances against Netherlands because we have a team good enough to win the game and qualify for the semi finals.”

On Sunday at Alajuela, the Falconets will play the Netherlands in the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup quarterfinals.

The Dutch team finished below the reigning champions Japan in group D after defeating fellow West African team Ghana to go to the knockout rounds.

Recall that the Falconets topped group C, winning all 3 group games scoring 5 goals and conceding one.
