Main Organising Committees of the National Sports Festival has announced a change of date for the games which will be hosted by Delta State.
The 21 National Sports Festival which was earlier scheduled to commerce on November 2nd with the opening ceremony on Nov 4, and the closing of the games village on Nov 15 in Delta State will now begin from the 28th of November till the 10th of December, 2022.
The postponement is due to the fact, there are still ongoing works in various facilities that would host events during the 13-day-tournament.
The main organising committee, in a letter signed by the secretary Mr Peter Nelson stated that the postponement was communicated to all commissioner and directors of sports across the 36 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory.
“I wish to convey the request of Delta State Government to shift the date of the 21st National Sports Festival earlier scheduled to hold from 2nd to 15th November 2022, is now shifted to commerce on 28th to 10th December 2022.
“The postponement is to give more time to complete some facilities for the festival.
“We regret any inconveniences this might have cause you.
“While thanking you for your” cooperation please accept the sporting regard of the Chairman Main organising committee (MOC)”, The letter reads.
