Head coach of Kwara United, Kabiru Dogo has faulted the newly re-grassed mainbow of the Kwara State Stadium Complex Ilorin for the club’s recent home struggles in the Nigeria premier football league, Owosports.com.ng reports.
Re-call that the pitch of the Kwara State Stadium Complex was converted from the previous synthetic grass to natural grass.
The gaffer expressed his displeasure with the playing turf of the main-bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex after their goalless draw with Doma Utd in the Nigeria premier football league NPFL matchday 12 midweek encounter on Wednesday.
The goalless draw against Doma Utd on Wednesday now makes it three home draws from six home games with the rest ending in win against, Abia Warriors, Sporting Lagos and Gombe United. The Harmony Boys have previously been held to a draw by Rangers International, neighbours Shooting Stars.
Speaking to journalists in a post match presser, The Former Wikki Tourist Technical Adviser said, For me I have to commend my boys for their spirit in the game, sometimes what we see outside is different from what we have here and it makes it difficult for us.
The pitch we are using is not like the away pitch, the pitch is favouring us with the type of football we want to play. Our philosophy is to put the ball on the ground but we can’t do it here. But we can’t make complaints now we just have to accept it as it is.” He said.
He further stated that the draw was a huge setback for the club’s top four ambitions this season.
“”It is a very big set back for us because we have our own plans which is to finish in the top four.”
Kwara United will next be away to league leaders Remo Stars in the matchday 13 clash in Ikenne, Ogun State.
