Nigerian defender Ebube Duru has made a stunning debut with Danish top-flight club Sønderjyske Fodbold, contributing to a historic 7-0 win against Solrød FC in the Danish Cup, Owosports.com.ng reports.

This victory surpasses the club’s previous record win of 5-0, making it the biggest win in Sønderjyske Fodbold’s history.

Duru, who joined the club on a three-year contract after a successful trial, made his debut alongside Hamza Akman and Rahmani, who scored in the match.

The 25-year-old left-back, formerly of Lobi Stars and Rivers United, has officially joined the Superliga squad after obtaining his work and residence permit.

According to the club’s website, “After a successful trial at Sønderjyske Fodbold, Ebube Duru has now signed a three-year contract with the Superliga club.

Now that the work and residence permit has also come into place, and thus the 25-year-old left back is officially ready to join the Superliga squad.”

Sporting director Casper Daather praised Duru, saying, “We have been watching Ebube Duru for a long period of time, and we have been satisfied with what we have seen. He brings some raw physique, power, and ambition, which looks very exciting.

“He has good raw material, which we look forward to developing together in our setup, and now that the contract and the various papers are in place, we look forward to getting started in earnest.”
