Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi was the hero for Nottingham Forest as his goal just before the half-hour mark was enough to secure all three points for his team against Southampton.
There was no surprise seeing the 25-year-old former Liverpool striker in the starting lineup considering he has been impressive since he moved from Germany to England last summer.
His four goals in as many games in the league have yielded 9 points for Nottingham Forest as he was also the scorer of both winning goals against West Ham and Liverpool earlier in the season.
He was substituted in the 70th minute while his compatriot Emmanuel Dennis failed to play a second in the match.
The victory ensured Nottingham Forest climbed to 15th place on the table with an FA Cup tie away at Blackpool to come next.
