The Kwara State/FA Sport Showcase Tourney got off to an exciting start on Monday, with young footballers showcasing their skills and vying for a chance to be discovered by European scouts.
The tournament, held at the Kwara State Stadium, saw eight matches played on the first day, with teams displaying impressive talent and determination.
Kwara Football Academy (KFA) led the way with a 2-0 victory over Star Builders, thanks to a late brace from Fawas Saka. DollyP SA also secured a 1-0 win against Abraysports FC, while Unicorn FA and Na Royal FC played out a goalless draw.
Laycon FC impressed with a 2-0 win over La Planet SA while A.S Koppan FC from Ghana defeated SGFC Athletics 1-0. Dohz SA and Dickalo FC also recorded 1-0 victories against Barrier SC and Offa FC, respectively.
European scouts who were on ground expressed this delight in the quality of players who participated in the programme.
