The Sky Blue Stars Skipper stepped up in the 62nd minutes to slot home a wonderful free kick from a 25 yard range- handing Remo Stars a 1 nil victory over Shooting Stars of Ibadan in the NPFL match day 11 encounter.
No doubt, the goal was a perfect touch of quality and classical shot which didn’t only defy the wall but goalkeeper Okanlawon Olaide’s instincts.
Speaking exclusively to www.owosports.com.ng after the encounter, Junior expressed his excitement about the goal which he noted was inspired after understudying the goalkeeper in one of his encounter.
” I didn’t have two minds .I just have to go with what my mind said- It’s a close range and I have watched the goalkeeper against Kwara United and I had to put it into practice and know this is the direction it’s going to go”. He explained.
“I feel great and excited scoring a lone goal against the Oluyole Warriors. It’s a clash of Stars and a derby” stated the defender who said the free kick was also influenced by tactical instructions he has been receiving from the coaches.
While lauding the fans for their continued support, he ruled out the fact that the team could be pushed under the pressure of maintaining their unbeaten run- saying their ultimate target is to maintain the NPFL slot.
Revelling his experience with the Head Coach of the team, Nduka described Coach Gbenga Ogunbote as one of the best gaffers in the NPFL.
“He is one of the best in the country. He is a great coach and I feel happy working with him and learning under his tutelage”.
After match day 11, Remo Stars remains the only unbeaten team in the league.
