Head coach of Delta Queens Football Club, Tosan Blanson has taken responsibility for his side penalty shootout defeat to Rivers Angels in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Federation cup played in Aba on Thursday.
Delta Queens lost out 3-1 on penalties after it ended goalless in regulations time with neighbors Rivers Angels with the gaffer taking full responsibility for the defeat.
Reacting to the defeat coach Tosan Blankson praise his team for their performance despite not converting their chances as he takes responsibility for the defeat.
“The girls played according to instructions they had opportunities to have wrapped up the game in the first half but they didn’t. they also had opportunities to finish the game in the second half but they did not.
“Sometimes in football not every chances is being converted. They had their chances but they couldn’t convert them I won’t fault them because they gave their best, I take full responsibility for the defeat today.” He said.
Delta Queens will now shit attention to the NWFL Super Six which will kickoff from the 9th of June in Asaba.
