Technical Adviser, MFM Football Club of Lagos, Coach Festus Allen has heaped praises on his players for the spirit of never say never they exhibited against the Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan in the match day 29 of Nigeria Professional Football League played on Sunday at Lekan Salami Stadium,Adamasingba, Ibadan
The former Bayelsa United and COD handler who revealed his coaching philosophy said that his mental toughness over the years has helped a great deal in building attacking football instinct on every team he handles and such must also be cascaded with MFM
Speaking exclusively with Ibadan based journalists shortly after picking up a point against Oluyole Warriors, the Rivers State born tactician recounted his experience in Nigerian leagues and his target for the relegation threaten team and the way to get out of dungeon.
“I have moved round the league touching every phase and tier .I was once with Shooting Stars, ABS Ilorin FC, Sharks of Portharcourt, First Bank of Lagos, Bayelsa United, COD, Cynosure FC and now MFM. As a coach, I have set up my mind to do my best to lift this team out of relegation water with the remaining fixtures. When I came on board, the team was at the very least of the log amassing 24 points and our victory against Kano Pillars at Ijebu Ode gave us impetus pushing us to 27 points while another vital point against Shooting Stars put us closer to other struggling opponents. Five points adrift of others are not insurmountable”.
He continued: “Presently, The Lagos outfit are 20th on the log with 28 points which made the job difficult for any Coach to think of miracle but it’s not over until it’s over”. Formerly Central Bank staff enthused.
According to the Bayelsa United and First Bank of Lagos tactician, he said his target was to defeat Shooting Stars of Ibadan but he eventually picked a point which further ignited their hope of uncommon miracle for the 2021/2022 NPFL Season
“Sunday, let me use this medium to call on football loving Lagosians to rally round this team and support us in the remaining 9 matches and just like I said, it is not over until it’s over”. The soft spoken tactician pleaded.
