After making history in Qatar as the first African representative in the semifinals of the World Cup, Morocco will host the next FIFA Club World Cup in February 2023.

Morocco’s announcement as tournament host is another global headline for the North African country just days after making headlines in Qatar.

Next year’s edition will serve as the second time the North African country will be hosting the tournament after they hosted it in 2014, and Real Madrid emerged as the winner.

The world’s governing body FIFA announced Morocco as the tournament’s next host on its Twitter account earlier in the day.

The FIFA Club World Cup is a global men’s association football competition and FIFA also announced that record 32 clubs will participate in the 2025 edition afterwards.
