Following the recent global outbreak of corona virus pandemic disease which breakout in the city of Wuhan, China late December 2019 which has caused all sporting events to be suspended including football.
The World football governing body FIFA is set to organize a charity match in a bid to raise funds in the fight against Covid19.
This was made known to general public by the FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who says the match will be played when the global health conditions allow, ‘even if in some months time’.
“Further details of this unique event, including the location, date, participants, and format will be announced by the FIFA foundation in due course,” said the foundation’s chief executive, former France and Bolton midfielder Youri Djorkaeff.
“Various scenarios and plans are currently under consideration, all of which are in line with health and other relevant guidelines from respective governments and international organizations”, he concluded.
