Nigeria U17 Girls, also known as the Flamingos, put on a dominant display to defeat their West African counterparts, Burkina Faso U17 Girls, 6-0 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Saturday evening to secure their spot in the final qualifying round of the FIFA U17 World Cup Qualifiers, Owosports.com.ng report.

The Flamingos came into this match with a 1-1 aggregate score from the first leg in Burkina Faso, and they wasted no time in asserting their authority. Chidera Harmony opened the scoring in the 11th minute, setting the tone for a convincing win.

Peace Effiong doubled the lead in the 34th minute, and the Flamingos went into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 advantage. The second half saw the Nigerian girls continue their relentless attack, with Harmony completing her hat-trick in the 74th and 85th minutes.

Layi Kareem added the fifth goal in the 83rd minute, and Effiong sealed the victory with her second goal in the 88th minute, making it 6-0 in favor of the Flamingos.

With this win, Nigeria’s U17 Girls have qualified for the final qualifying round, where they will face the winner of the Senegal/Liberia fixture. Coach Olowokere Bankole’s team has shown impressive form and determination, and they will be looking to carry this momentum into the next round as they aim to secure a spot in the FIFA U17 World Cup.
