The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the appointment of Aliyu Zubairu as the new Head Coach of the National U20 Boys team, the Flying Eagles, Owosports.com.ng reports.
This decision was made by the Executive Committee, following a recommendation by the Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
Zubairu, who recently led El-Kanemi Warriors to a thrilling victory in the President Federation Cup, defeating Abia Warriors FC in Lagos in June, will take on his new role with immediate effect.
As the new Head Coach, Zubairu’s immediate task is to assemble and prepare a team for the upcoming WAFU B U20 Championship, scheduled for October/November in Togo. The winner of this tournament will represent the zone in the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, making this a crucial appointment for Nigerian football.
