Forensic Audit: Niger Tornadoes Welcomes Inquiries

The NNL outfit, Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna in a statement signed by it management has welcomed inquiries into its financial activities.

The Ikon Allah boys while clarifying and responding to a statement credited to Mr. Dan Amasigha calling for the forensic audit of Niger Tornadoes finances within the period of 10 years said there is no cause for alarm.

Mr Dan Amasigha who also doubles as the State caretaker Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Niger State Chapter was reported to had made the call on a Radio programme on prestige FM in Minna.

“The call is a welcome development, particularly that Niger State is a signatory to open governance and to enhance probity and accountability”, the statement reads in part.

The Club also noted that, as a registered Football Club, it is compelled by the statutes of Nigeria Football Federation and the organizing body of the League, to give annual return which is prerequisite to the club’s registration requirements.

The statement explained that, it has been consistent in giving her annual return as at when due.

However, it also revealed that, the anchor or anyone wishing to know about the finances of the Club can explore the freedom of information act to get information appropriately.

“In essence anybody who want information can contact the Sport Ministry as it would not condescend to a Radio broadcast approach to discuss the finances of the team.
