Former NWFL Premiership Topscorer Rofiat Sule Wins Coppa Italia Title With Vicenza

Former Bayelsa Queens forward, Rofiat Sule has won the Serie ‘C’ Coppa Italia title with her Club, Vicenza Calcio Femminile.

The young forward was instrumental to her sides recent victory after scoring a hat-trick in the quarter final game against A.S.D Calcio Femminile Chieti, enroute the final, where they defeated Ternana Calcio Femminile, by one goal to nil.

In a chat with from her base in Italy, the Lagos-born forward was elated and hailed her teammates and coaches for making the feat possible.

“I am very happy for this title. It is my first trophy since arriving Italy two years ago. We did all we could on the pitch and we achieved our aim through alot of hardwork.” She said.

“I am dedicating this title to all my teammates, technical Crew and everyone involved in the team. This will surely make us want to achieve more.” She Concluded.

Sule joined Serie ‘A’ Side Bari Pink Sports FC from Edo Queens in 2020, before joining Vicenza Calcio Femminile in 2021 after the Bari based club got relegated.

She was part of Nigeria’s Wafu Women’s Cup win in Cote d’Ivoire, where she scored thrice and provided four assists. She featured in the team’s Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020) qualifying campaign, which Nigeria failed to qualify.

The forward had started her football career with Jagunmolu FC and enjoyed a domestic breakthrough finishing as the Nigerian league topscorer back-to-back with 11 goals in 2015 and nine in 2016.
