Bright Esieme, a stalwart defender who represented Nigeria at the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN), has been buried in his hometown of Amaise Ukpakiri, Obingwa.
The 32-year-old passed away recently after a brief illness.
Esieme’s football career was marked by notable achievements, including helping the Super Eagles secure a third-place finish at the 2014 CHAN tournament with a 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe.
He also had a successful club career, playing for top Nigerian clubs like Rangers, ABS, Niger Tornadoes, Abia Comets, and Enyimba FC in the Nigerian Premierl Football League (NPFL).
