Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars FC, has appointed Daniel Amokachi as its new Technical Adviser, effective immediately.

This decision follows the club’s termination of Coach Eugene Agagbe’s contract due to his failure to meet a five-match win target, securing only one victory while losing three.

Amokachi’s appointment aims to revitalize the club’s strategy and improve performance on the field. Consequently, all backroom staff have been relieved of their duties and instructed to reapply if they wish to continue with the club. They must hand over all club property in their possession to the club secretary immediately.

A renowned former player, Daniel Amokachi was part of Nigeria’s iconic 1994 squad, led by Clemens Westerhof, which qualified Nigeria for its first-ever World Cup and won the country’s second AFCON title in Tunisia. He was also a member of the victorious 1996 Olympic team that won gold at the Atlanta Olympics.

Amokachi has previous NPFL coaching experience with Nasarawa United, Enyimba, and Ifeanyi Ubah. Notably, he served as assistant coach to the late Stephen Keshi’s team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.
