Tottenham Hotspur and France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has declared his retirement from International Football.

The veteran goalkeeper has appeared in three European Championships and four World Cup editions and captained the French team to glory in the 2018 edition.

The announcement is coming just weeks after he helped France to back-to-back World Cup finals in Qatar before the French team lost to Argentina on penalties.

He earned his first senior national team call-up on the 6th of February 2008 and 145 caps altogether with the last appearance coming in the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The honors he won with his country are Uefa European championship runner-up medal, FIFA World Cup in 2018, Uefa Nations League, and the FIFA World Cup runner-up medal in 2022.
