Following the dismissal of Coach Tunde Sanni after Kwara United’s disappointing 1–0 home defeat to Abia Warriors, reports have emerged linking veteran tactician Gbenga Ogunbote with the vacant managerial position at the Ilorin-based club.
Ogunbote, fondly called “Oracle”, is one of the most experienced and respected coaches in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Over the years, he has handled several top-flight sides, including Sunshine Stars, Shooting Stars, Enyimba International, Lobi Stars, and Remo Stars. His wealth of experience, tactical discipline, and ability to rebuild struggling teams have made him a strong contender for the role.
The experienced gaffer, who last managed Remo Stars and Shooting Stars, is now being considered to take charge in Ilorin as the Harmony Boys look to revive their campaign and restore confidence after a difficult start to the season.
Although no official announcement has been made, sources close to the club suggest that discussions with Ogunbote are progressing positively, and an agreement could be finalized soon.
