.Targets CAF Confederation Cup With Enyimba

CHAN Eagles and Enyimba of Aba rock solid defender, Ifeanyi Anaemena has disclosed that his main targets this season is to lift the CAF Confederation Cup trophy and move to a better league when the chance come knocking.

The People’s Elephants qualified to group stage of CAF second tier football competition after they edged out TS Galaxy of South Africa 4-1 on aggregate scoreline.

Anaemena a key member of Enyimba Int’l said this while speaking with OwoSports.com.

“Honestly my main targets this season is to win CAF Confederation Cup with Enyimba and secondly to move abroad when the right deal comes my way.

“The hardest huddle has been crossed, making it to group stage of Confederation Cup was most important after we couldn’t do that in Champions League.

Speaking on his national team debut against Togo in Lagos, where Home-Based Super Eagles beat Hawks 2-0 but failed to make it to CHAN 2020 on 3-4 on aggregate after the team lost the 1st leg 4-1 in Lome.

“It was mixed feelings for me, excited as it was an honour and privilege to make my debut for the National team, though I felt bad at the end as we couldn’t qualify for Cameroon 2020 despite winning. I still give glory to God for everything and equally appreciate Coach Imama Amapakabo for believing in me.”

He concluded by appealing to all national team handlers to give opportunity to Nigeria league players.

“I just pray that in time to come things will be done on merit in our football irrespective of who is who, in order to move our dear country forward.

“Seriously I will be happy if the national team coaches can give more opportunities to we playing in the NPFL, if given an opportunity to play, it will boost out morale and encourage us to give our best.

“Though the NPFL players are kind of neglected in the Super Eagles, that’s not to say we don’t have what it takes to play good football and to defend the green and white colour of this great Nation.”

Anaemena and his Enyimba teammates will be on the road to play Katsina United on MatchDay Two of Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
