… Eyes 2023 Worldcup Chance With Super Falcons
Just like Cristiano Ronaldo recently said in an interview, “I want to win the Worldcup with Portugal, I know it will be difficult, but ‘dreaming’ is free.” Yes Offcourse, dreaming is free and for Glory Ubong Edet, she isn’t left out as she also nurses her own dreams and aspirations.
The Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa right back has revealed that her dreams is to be part of Nigeria’s Super Falcons team to the 2023 FIFA Women’s Worldcup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. She also added that she wants be the best right back in the World.
“I have always had the dream to represent Nigeria in the World cup and to be the best right back in the World I know I have what it takes to make the team to the Worldcup next year.” She said exclusively to www.owosports.com.ng.
Glory Edet was part of the Bayelsa Queens side that finished third at the just concluded CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco and was named in the team of the Tournament by the organisers.
The former Ibom Angels defender however hopes to retain the Nigeria Women’s Football league (NWFL) crown stating that they have an unfinished business in the champions league and to return and prove to the World the stuff they are made off.
“My aim is for us to win the league again and return to the Women Champions League and make the World know the stuff we are made up off, we have a lot of quality. We know it won’t be easy because everyone wants to be there.” She said.
Glory Edet began her career with Young Talent Academy of Lagos before she moved to Ibom Angels of Uyo her state team in 2018 she then joined Confluence Queens of Lokoja in 2019 before joining Bayelsa Queens where she has enjoyed successes winning the NWFL title, Aiteo Cup, WAFU B title and a bronze medal from the CAF Women’s Champions League. She however revealed that her next destination would be Athletico Madrid in Spain.
