The management of Godswill Akpabio United Football Club (GAUFC) has officially announced Sunday, August 10, 2025, as the resumption date for players ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The club’s camp will reopen on the above-mentioned date, with all players expected to report back, while training activities will commence on Monday, August 11, under the supervision of the coaching and backroom staff, who are also expected to resume accordingly.
This early return is part of the club’s strategic plan to build on the achievements of its maiden NNL campaign and ensure better preparation for the new season.
The club has also confirmed that 20 players from last season have been retained to form the core of the squad moving forward.
GAUFC extends its heartfelt appreciation to all players who featured in last season’s campaign but will not be continuing with the club. “We thank you for your dedication and contributions, and we wish you the very best in your future endeavours,” the club stated.
