Gombe FA Chairman Heaps Praise On Gombe United After NPFL Return

Gombe State football Association chairman Yakubu Sarma has heap praise on the management, coaches and players of Gombe United for a job Weldone after they picked one of the four available Nigeria Professional football league Promotion slot from the NNL playoffs which went down in Enugu state.

Gombe United finished second from their Northern Conference Group B standing behind Niger Tonerdoes in the NNL playoffs which went down at Nmandi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu state to qualify for the Nigeria top-flight football league for 2021/2022 season.

“We are happy with the promotion to the NPFL we appreciate all that supported us in every capacity”, said the football Administrator.

“We thank the Governor for his support and encouragement and to the coach who has proven that with a little push he is going to give us the best and to the Players we appreciate them for the results the gave us, for the management of Gombe United they’ve really done their best I must commend them, we are happy to be back and we will prove ourselves at the very top.

Yakubu Sarma also stated that with the support from the state Government that they will do there best to ensure that the team doesn’t go down.

“All hands will be on deck to ensure that we remain in the Premier league, Gombe United is an house hold name in the Nigeria top-flight football league unfortunately things happenned the way it went that got relegated,

“The Governor will give us all the support needed to fortify the team to make sure we don’t relegate”, he concluded.

Gombe United were relegated in the 2018/2019 season.
