Ondo state Governor His excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa as approved the upgrade of Ondo sports complex situated in Akure Ondo state Capital. The Governor approved the upgrade during the State Executive Council meeting on Tuesday in Akure.
The upgrade is very necessary for the current administration in the state as part of revitalizations of critical infrastructure in the state.
According to the Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, Ondo State Sports Complex rehabilitation which has been long overdue will feature upgrading of major facility in the stadium, including the main bowl and football pitch, as well as indoor sports hall and swimming pool.
The aim to upgrade the facilities is to meet the International Standard so that it can host different sports competition. The stadium is the home of Sunshine Stars of Akure.
