Plateau United bounced back from their disappointing 2-0 loss to Niger Tornadoes to thrash Garkuwa 4-1 in their second game of the Governor Masari Preseason Tournament played on Monday at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
Usman Aminu, Sunday Adetunji, Seidu Jubril and Jesse Akila’s goals in the fourth, 13th, 20th and 73rd minutes in that order gave the Peace Boys a comfortable victory while Umar Oddo got a consolatory goal for Garkuwa.
Sokoto United who suffered a 2-0 loss to Katsina United 1 repeated the same gesture to Junior Katsina United with Umar Shetima and Nasiru Momoh grabbing the goals for the National League side in the 19th and 24th minutes.

Katsina United 2 were unable to secure their third consecutive win in Group B of the Governor Masari Preseason Tournament after the Bishir Sadauki’s men were held to a goalless draw at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina by Wikki Tourists who only had their first game of the tourney on Monday. Katsina United 2 had earlier beaten Zamfara United and Dadinkowa by 3-1 and 4-0 respectively.
Zamfara United could not muster a win against Rarara Academy and both settled for a goalless draw in another tantalising fixture played on Monday in Katsina also in Group B.
On Tuesday, November 3rd, action shifts to Groups A and B of the Governor Masari Preseason Tournament with interesting fixtures lined up from 8am.
In Group A, Katsina United 1 with six maximum points from victories over Sokoto United and Niger Tornadoes will lock horns with Plateau United by 4pm in the main highlight of the Tuesday matches. The Peace Boys on their own started the tournament on a shaky note with a 2-0 defeat to Niger Tornadoes but they quickly redeemed their Image with a 4-1 whiplash of Garkuwa Football Club.
In the other Group A tie, Sokoto United and Niger Tornadoes will slug it out by 8am in the first game of Tuesday.
In Group B, Wikki Tourists will test their might against Zamfara United who will play their fourth game on Tuesday. They lost 3-1 to Katsina United 1,drew with Rarara Academy and got a 3-1 victory over Danburam.
While Danburam and Dadin Kowa Academy have a Group B tie by 10am also on Tuesday.
