Executive Governor of Lagos State ,Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday presented a coaster bus to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, Robo Queens.
According to a statement on the official page of Lagos State Sports Coommission, the bus was presented to the club in recognition of their outstanding performance and empowerment of female gender.
The statement reads:
“Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu ,Governor Lagos State Today presented a Toyota coaster bus to the Lagos based Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) team, Robo Queens in recognition of their outstanding performance and empowering of female gender through sports”
Robo Queens are the champions of the Lagos State football Association Cup 2021.
The ‘Osahon ladies’ are currently occupying the second position on the table of NWFL 2021/2022 season Group B with six points.
Robo Queens,a private owned club by Coach Emmanuel Osahon are undoubtedly one of the most consistent female football side in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
Among other things, the club is reputed to have produced the Super Falcons Striker and Four time African female footballer of the year, Asisat Oshoala.
At the presentation were top sports and football stakeholders, including Barrister Seyi Akinwumi, Lagos State football Association Chairman and host of others.
