Nigerian striker, Sadiq Umar who presently plays for Almeria FC in the Spanish Segunda Division has told Football Writers based in his home country, Nigeria the feeling he had playing against Premier League top guns Manchester United in the Europa League last season.
The former FK Partizan striker said: “It was an emotional game for me, I can’t described the feeling knowing full well that the Red Devils is my boyhood club. I did support Manchester United during my formative years, so playing against Man United was the most memorable match so far in my football career.
“I played both games at home in Belgrade and away at Old Trafford. But now as a professional footballer my club is Almeria. I want to give my best and ensure my team return back to the Spanish La Liga.”
Umar has been in good form for Almeria scoring six goals in 17 matches, as his team is presently placed 3rd on the log with 38 points while they continue to push till the last day of the league in other to secure one of the promotion tickets from the division to the elite Spanish LaLiga.
The lanky Rio Olympics bronze medalists concludes by saying he is ready to play for the Super Eagles if given the chance by the gaffer of the senior national team, Gernot Rohr.
