HIFL21: A Glimpse At The Round of 16 Groupings For 2021 Edition.

The round of 16 draws event for the third edition of the foremost University league in Nigeria heldĀ  on Saturday 5th of June in Lagos.

With 16 teams on the card , keen followers and enthusiasts will now have the opportunity to savour actions and moments of the league which couldn’t come up last year due to Covid-19 pandemic.

For team managers and administrators, the draws has definitely provided them enough clues on how to decisively prepare and structure their team ahead of the competition which is billed to commence very soon.

In Pot A, the draw has tied AAUA Luminaries of Adekunle Ajasin University of Education Akungba Akoko to face OAU Giants of Obafemi Awolowo University
While FUTA Tigers from Federal University of Technology,Akure and Unilag Marines from the University of Lagos will be slugging it out.

Uniben Royals of University of Benin will be squaring up against the winner of the last edition of the tournament, Unical Malabites of University of Calabar as another interesting grouping will have IAEU Minders of the Iganatus Ajuru University of Education Port Harcourt taking on UNN Lions from University of Nigeria Nsukka- Pot B.

In Pot C, ABU Nobles of Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria will face the inaugural champions of the league; UAM Tillers of the University of Makurdi and Buk Stallions of Bayero University,Kano will be taking on UniMaid Desert Warriors from University of Maiduguri.

While Lautech Hunters of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology have been drawn against FUTMinna Transformers of Federal University of Technology,Minna, KSU Steelers from Kogi State University will begin their league pursuit against UniIlorin Warriors of the University of Ilorin all in the group D.

It is also interesting to know that the round of 16 games will be an home and away affairs thus availing teams opportunity to perfect their plans.

Guests at the event which held at the Radisson Blu, Ikeja Lagos State, includes the
Marketing  Manager, Nivea Men, Faizal Kayode; Chief Strategy Officer PSEM, Goodness Onyejiaku; Director, PACE Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Sola Fijabi and Brand Manager, Minimie, Monica Jaiswal.

Also at the event were the Chairman, Higher Institution Football League; Dr. Kachi Onubogu, President, Nigerian University Games Association; Prof. Stephen Hamafyelto, Director, PACE Sports and Entertainment Marketing; Taiwo Ogunwumi and a host of others.
