Chairman Ekiti State Football Association, Bayo Olanlege, has reinstated his commitment to further advance the course of football developments in Ekiti state with digital solutions which would be embraced by all and sundry.
Olanlege who is the CEO of Fountain Youths Sports Club now Phoenix Athletics Sports Club, a community development project that uses sports for the development of gifted youths in Ekiti State from 2008 till date revealed to Family United By Football FUBF how he intends to further put Ekiti Football on a global map.
“As a born administrator, I have initiated so many tournaments, because I didn’t enjoy football playing football due to my height as a kid.
“I was so good at keeping records and that has shaped my destiny and it really help my calling till today.
“We are doing our best for underage programs, I love to see kids play that’s why we are establishing cadet teams in the state like Ekiti Bees being the products of our grassroot tournaments hosted by the Football Association,” Olanlege who was the Secretary, Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Ekiti Chapter 2008 through 2015 told FUBF.
Boyomay as he’s fondly called by his admirers was the initiator and state coordinator of Nigeria Football Supporters Club U-13 Primary School Football Competition 2008-2011.
The initiator of ALGON CUP Football Competition in Ekiti State further disclosed that the state will work more and deploy digital means of identifying talents and exposing the unearth materials to the world.
“We will keep on organizing tournaments and I want to appreciate Hon. Kunle Soname for believing and supporting what we are doing in Ekiti.
“Hopefully, all our major tourneys would start hitting the air waves via live streaming from Semi Finals because by this, we would offer our domain to the world.”
Since he came on board in May 2019, Olanlege and his board have rejigged Ekiti Football with commendable reforms that culminated into attracting sponsors and the establishment of Ekiti Bees (State FA U-16) team. Bet9ja Ekiti Football League and JKF Youth Cup are another worthwhile soccer siesta that produced a lot of talents.
Coaches in Ekiti are currently supported with 1GB data monthly to access training materials being provided by the state FA just to contribute to the capacity developments of the indigenous trainers. Of a truth, when the godly are in authority, the people rejoice.
