“I Felt Betrayed At Shooting Stars” – Ebenezer Odeyemi

Ebenezer Odeyemi says he was betrayed at Shooting Stars after he was dropped midway into the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football Season.

The Striker said he had declined a move to Sunshine Stars to join Shooting Star after he was approached to come help the club in their promotion pursuit in the 2021 NNL Super Eight played in Enugu of which he oblige and joined the club in the super Eight and helped them gained promotion alongside Remo Stars, Niger Tornadoes and Gombe United.

The striker who spent the remainder of last season with Gombe United after being dropped by Shooting Stars, has now linked up with newly promoted Bendel Insurance of Benin and was pivotal for the club scoring the winner against Doma United as they emerged Champions of the 2021/2022 NNL season from the super four played in Bayelsa State.

“I felt betrayed actually because it was a team I betrayed Sunshine Stars for that season I was supposed to be in Sunshine but they kept pressurizing me that I should join them in the NNL Super Eight which I betrayed coach Ayeni at Sunshine Stars.

But I didn’t expect all that happened like that for me at Shooting Stars because I thought I was giving them my best until they came up with the news of me being dropped.” The Former MFMFC striker said in a chat with our correspondent.

He however revealed he has moved on and his happy with his move to Bendel Insurance and hope to give his best to help the club remain in the NPFL next season.
