Ighalo Will Help Us, Shehu Abdullahi Shares Thought On Ighalo’s Super Eagles Return

Omonia Nicosia defender Abdullahi Shehu believe the return of Al-Shabab striker Odion Ighalo is a good omen to the Country’s National football team as the Coach and the players believes in his abilities.

Odion Ighalo Alongside former skipper John Obi Mikel called it quit with the Super Eagles in June 2019 after they both helped the team to a third place finish at the last edition of the Africa cup of Nations in Egypt where he also emerged as the top score of the competition.

Three years down the line, the former Watford, and Manchester United striker have made a shocking return after making the recent list released by the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr for the final two games of the Qatar 2022 FIFA Worldcup qualifiers later this Month.

The Omonia Nicosia right back however sees nothing wrong with his return as he believes the 33-year old still has what it takes to help the team.

“We are all happy to have Ighalo back in the team. With his experience Ighalo is a top top player that everyone looks up to”, Shehu Abdullahi said to Supersport Nija made as reported by Allnigeriasoccer.

“To have Ighalo back in the team is good for all of us, he will help the team, I am sure the coach trust him and we trust him too.

“With his experience I think a lot of players there in the team will learn a lot from him so we are happy to have him back.

Ighalo has scored nine times in eleven appearance in the Saudi Arabian league this season.
