Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) newcomers Ikorodu City will begin their maiden top-flight campaign with a daunting task against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha stadium on September 8th.

The “OGA Boys” have risen through the ranks from the amateur division and will now face the stern test of the elite league.

Kano Pillars’ home ground has historically been a fortress, with the team at a period enjoyed a remarkable unbeaten run of nearly a decade.

Ikorodu City will have to be at their best to secure a positive result in their debut match.

The challenges don’t end there, as they will host reigning NPFL champions Enugu Rangers in their first home game on September 15th.

The stakes are high, with a N200 million bounty awaiting for the league champions.
